How to make Linguini With Red Clam Sauce
2-7 ounce cans minced clams
1/2 cup chopped onion
1 tablespoon snipped parsley
1 clove garlic, minced
2 tablespoons olive oil
1- 15 ounce can tomato sauce
1- 6 ounce can tomato paste
1 teaspoon dried basil
1 tablespoon dried oregano
1/2 teaspoon sugar
1/8 pepper
16 ounces linguini
1-1/2 cups water
Grated Parmesan cheese
Drain clams, reserving liquid. Cook onion, parsley, and garlic in oil till onion is tender. Stir in tomato sauce, tomato paste, reserved clam liquid, basil, sugar, pepper, and 1 1/2 cups water. Cover and simmer 1 hour. Add clams; heat through. Cook linguini according to package directions; drain. Pour sauce over linguini; serve with Parmesan. Makes 6 servings.
