Almond Crescent Cookies Recipe

Christmas Cookies

1 1/2 cups ground almonds
1/4 cup sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 egg white
1/4 cup flour
1 egg
1/4 cup flaked almonds
2 tablespoons milk sweetened with a little confectioners sugar

Preheat oven to 400 degrees
Mix ground almonds with sugar and vanilla. Moisten with egg white until evenly combined. Add flour and mix. mixture together with fingertips. Divide into “nut-sized” pieces. With lightly floured hands, roll into small cigar shapes with pointed ends. Brush each one with beaten egg and sprinkle with flaked almonds. Bend into a crescent shape
Place on a greased baking sheet and brush lightly with any remaining egg. Bake for 10-15 minutes till evenly colored. Remove from oven and brush immediately with sweetened milk. Using a spatula,, carefully loosen crescents and transfer to wire rack to cool. Sprinkle with powdered sugar.
Makes about 20 crescents.
